I love everything about this one. Two beach scenes stacked — women in swimsuits standing on a giant sundial at Cannon Beach, Oregon, the text reading Stand in Oval — Your Shadow Falls on Seaside Time — and below them a crowd of beachgoers from another era, all movement and shadow. I transferred both images onto the surface and painted a deep, raw black ground beneath them, letting orange and white push through like light breaking through asphalt. There is something joyful and a little absurd about standing on a sundial to tell time by your own shadow, and I find that completely wonderful. A bold, layered, and full-of-life collage for a contemporary, coastal, or collected interior.
