This is the Oregon coast doing what it does best — putting on a sky. I painted this standing in the dunes on a blustery morning, the grasses bending around my feet, a big weather system rolling in from the northwest. The clouds build and shift so fast out here that you have to paint quickly, committing to what you see before it changes entirely. The surf below is white and restless, the ocean a deep blue-gray. There is real energy in this painting — you can feel the wind. A powerful and atmospheric piece that suits a coastal home, a modern interior, or any wall that can hold something with presence.
