This one came quickly, the way the best paintings sometimes do. I was standing in the dunes on a breezy spring morning, the grasses whipping around me, Tillamook Head sitting low and blue across the water. I worked fast and loose, letting the marks follow the energy of the place — scratched lines through the grasses, broad sweeps of aqua and yellow-green, a flicker of pink in the sand where the light hit it. It has a rawness to it that feels honest. A spirited, expressive piece that brings energy and freshness to a coastal, contemporary, or eclectic interior.
