There is a path through the dunes in Gearhart that I have walked so many times I know every bend of it. The grasses grow tall on either side, close enough to touch, and at the end there is always that moment — that first flash of white surf and open sky that stops you every single time no matter how many times you've seen it. I wanted this painting to put the viewer right there on the path, not yet at the beach but almost. The texture is rich throughout, the grasses built up in layers that catch the light just as they do in real life. A deeply personal and inviting piece that works beautifully in a beach house, coastal retreat, or any interior that loves texture and warmth.
