This is the path I walk almost every morning — down through the dune grass, the tall golden stalks brushing your arms as you pass, and then that first glimpse of turquoise water opening up ahead. On a summer day the ocean at Gearhart can be an almost unbelievable shade of blue, the waves rolling in clean and white against the pale sand. I wanted to paint that feeling of anticipation — the path leading you forward, the ocean waiting. The warm golds and rich blues in this piece make it a beautiful fit for a beach house, coastal, or classic interior.
