This is the view looking back toward the Coast Range from the dunes — a perspective I don't paint as often, but one that stopped me in my tracks one morning when the clouds were doing something spectacular over the mountains. The dune grasses and wildflowers in the foreground were catching the light in pinks and yellows, and the whole landscape felt alive with color and movement. I applied the paint thickly with a palette knife, letting the texture carry the energy of the scene. A vibrant, expressive piece that works beautifully in a contemporary, coastal, or nature-inspired interior.
